Day 78

Day 78

We are home!!! Back in our own bed last night; No Ambulance sirens; No elevator bells; No Hallway doors baning. Just the peace and quiet of the country life we so much love (and the occasional howl of a coyote at the train whistle in the distance).

This morning was coffee in bed together as usual and as it should be; A leisurely breakfast with no place to be; Enjoying the birds on the feeder, and the cats at the back door hoping to be fed since they know we are now home.

We have missed so much in our little slice of paradise these past seven weeks: Harvest for me is almost over thanks to our neighbor who has carefully watched over my crops; A hard freeze the other night has doomed our garden to the compost bin, and the walnut tree west of the garage has already lost its leaves.

Moving back from our Guest House apartment has given us another task, putting away all the ‘stuff’ that came back with us. Not only is there bedding, clothes, kitchen gear, and sewing supplies that made it home; but we also have all the meds, mouth, and teeth care items and foodstuffs that got duplicated that we have to find homes for. A bare refrigerator also dictates that a grocery store will be on the agenda very soon

Suzanne will, I’m sure, eventually, get back into the groove of working in her sewing studio. Although the amount of time may be reduced at the start because of stamina, the way she has powered through this, it won’t be long till she’s back at almost full speed.

I have indeed built you an exalted house, a place for you to dwell in forever.
1 Kings 8:13
