Another Quick Trip
Yesterday afternoon we traveled back to Rush in Chicago for a couple of appointments and quick surgery. Not sure how else to describe these jaunts up there.
We checked into the Marriot Hotel located catty-corner from the Hospital, convieneint for this trip. I left Suzanne in the room as I trecked the 2 blocks to meet with billing and deliver the checks needed to insure her treatments will start next Monday. Computer issues at that point kept them from posting the payments but I did receive confirmation later that day. Now we are good to go next week, fingers crossed.
Back to the hotel just in time to hustle Suzanne off to another building for a hearing test. We learned that Chemotherapy can damage hearing so they wanted a base test to compare for future tests. We arrived about 20 minutes early, but like many of the appointments we have had at Rush, she was called back for the test early. Actually, she was done about the time the appointment was scheduled.
All of this found us hungry so we walked about 1/4 mile down to Taylor street where there are a number of restaurants. We chose Pompei, an Italian eatery. The food was good and I never pass up the chance to have a Cannoli so we brought one home for desert.
Today was an early morning as Suzanne had to be at pre-op by 7:30 am. This surgery was to put the Chemotherapy Port in her upper right chest. Of course, before surgery was covid test #3. Running a little late, surgery was done by 11:00 am, recovery by Noon, and then on the road, we were home by around 2:30 pm
Suzanne took it easy the rest of the day and I didn’t get as much done as I usually do. We are both a little exhausted from the past 25 days, all that has happened, and we arn’t even half way though it yet. How fortunate we are to have such a good team of Dr’s & Staff who are pushing us through this and a team of prayer warriors who are pushing as well.
When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.
Psalm 34:17

My thoughts and many prayers are with you on this journey of life…In reading the updates, I can’t help remembering all AB and I endured in his diagnosis and treatment. This brings back a flood of memories, being so exhausted from tests …treatments…surgery…and each fell on special days…my birthday, our anniversary, Easter…I pray for you both , strength, endurance, love and faith…❤❤
