PATHway 18

PATHway 18

You know how repetitive activities or events in our lives become so automatic? The morning bathroom routine, Getting the kids off to school, Going to church, and The family Thanksgiving get-together, all seem to happen without a lot of thought or planning. That’s what Suzanne’s PATHway trial has become, routine, and it’s about to end.

Yesterday was treatment number eighteen with one more to go. It’s hard to believe that it all started a year ago when my astronaut wife chose to participate in this research trial. We have to believe that this was put before her for a bigger purpose, but our inner purpose was to prevent her cancer from reoccurrence; and at this point, that seems to be working.

Yesterday was our typical routine day: drive two hours, blood work, an appointment with her oncologist, infusion, an appointment with her surgeon, and the two-hour trip home. Except for all the waiting between each event, it all went like clockwork. Just as it has pretty much seventeen times before.

I can say that Suzanne is ready to put this all behind her. The only comment both Doctors said to her was “keep doing whatever you’re doing” as she continues to heal and improve. So heading into this spring and summer, she is looking forward to getting outside into her rose garden, getting some exercise, and even just sitting and relaxing on the veranda.

Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.

  1. So happy to see the progress Suzanne has made through this (guinea pig) program she so bravely took upon herself with her comment ” if will help others. Let’s do it)..
God bless you both. This endeavor takes a big commitment from both of you!
