Dr. A was actually in this morning, a Sunday, and said “not Monday” but didn’t speculate beyond that. He wants to scope her throat tomorrow to see how things are going, especially the hole in her throat incision. Monday will be thirteen days after surgery and would have expected an office follow-up by then anyway so I can only assume that if we would have gone home last Friday, we would have been back up here tomorrow.

They have also taken a culture from around her G-Tube. Suzanne has been complaining for weeks that there was an unusual amount of seepage around the feeding tube. Actually, someone had prescribed an antibiotic prior to surgery. Well, this culture has come back positive so they are now waiting to determine the infection strain so the proper treatment can be administered.

On a lighter note, Suzanne has been jealous of the relationship I have developed with my bartender, Angel. We all need an angel in our life. When I leave the hospital room I order something from GrubHub to be delivered to the hotel for supper. If I am partaking in a beverage in the bar, I can eat supper there. Angel and I have a good relationship which gives me someone to talk with during the meal. Much to the surprise of Suzanne when she asked, Angel, is a he, not a she.
