Let it Snow

Let it Snow

Suzanne is scheduled for surgery Tuesday, a throat biopsy at Rush in Chicago. Have you looked at the radar lately? There is suppose to be a blizzard there Monday & Tuesday.

As if this coming event wasn’t stressful enough, we’ve been hearing about the impending snowstorm for a week now. You can imagine all the ‘What ifs’ that were running through our heads; What if we can’t get there, what if the doctor can’t get there, cancel the surgery, can’t get out of town afterward. . . . . .

With all that mental turmoil, I decided to make a reservation at the hotel across the street and plan to head that way tomorrow, the day before. So booking online, I discover that the cancellation policy for the room stated it had to be made by today at noon. So now, all the same ‘What ifs’ came into play along with a new one, what if they cancel the surgery tomorrow, we can’t get a refund.

What we are going to rely on at this point is faith. Faith that the man upstairs has our back in all this; Faith that the surgeon and staff will be available when the time occurs; Faith that the weather forecasters have missed the mark on this one and travel won’t be too bad; Faith that the two of us are doing all that HE expects us to do.

So off to Chicago, we go tomorrow. If nothing else, a relaxing, binge movie watching time will be had by all.

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

  1. Thanks for keeping us informed John, so we know how to target & specify prayers. Safe travels tomorrow dear neighbors. Thankful you’re staying overnight! Prayers continue all goes as doctors have planned; and you receive news of encouraging results. Also pray you both be wrapped in “….the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding……” as these next few days unfold.

  2. Wanted to tell Suzanne we have been thinking about her, and pray she will continue to heal. Have safe traveling to and from home, know the Lord is driving.
