Memories Revisited ’22
The Christmas season brings out cherished memories with friends and family. One of the most cherished periods of my life was publishing my dad’s WWII diary back in 2012-15. As a tribute to him, I put together a video of how he spent Christmas each year he was overseas. Now, watching this video every year brings a smile to my face as I remember him and our journey together.
So here is my annual posting of Christmas for a WWII Soldier. Whether you’ve watched it before or it’s new to you, I hope you enjoy it and remember all those service members both past a present who spent their Christmas away from loved ones to make it possible for you to celebrate Christ’s Birth however you choose to.
For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Mark 10:45

I loved listening to your wonderful tribute. My dad and uncles must have had similar Christmas experiences so far from home in Iowa. Merry Christmas.
Thanks for sharing this again. I enjoy watching it. I had never thought of White Christmas like that before.
Thank you cuz for that beautiful video. What a great memory and honor to your dad and those around. Thank you and May You And Suzanne have a wonderful Christmas.
Love you both Cuz
Thanks for sharing, John. I found the letters interesting and made me think of my Dad’s 5 brothers who served during WWII. All were very blessed to return home, except one, a paratrooper, who was dropped behind the lines in France. I never met him, since he died long before I was born. Your father’s letters are a treasure.
