Thanksgiving 2022
To all our friends & family, Happy Thanksgiving.
It’s hard to put into words how grateful we are to still be together for Thanksgiving this year. It seems so long ago that Suzanne was diagnosed, and now we think we have figured out how we will share this life from here on.
Since we got married, Thanksgiving has usually been a day we celebrate with Suzanne’s side of the family. Big dinner at Suzanne’s dad’s; both of her brothers & spouses; and until more recent years, all the grandkids as well. As families grow, and time marches on, the day has changed some as well.
Most of the grandchildren now have families of their own so attendance is varied. Some find they have to divide the day between their new families; Some, like Justin, have moved far enough away that being home for every holiday just isn’t practical; Others, for their own reasons, celebrate elsewhere. In any case, they are all with us in our hearts.
Personally, being thankful is something I was taught, for the life I have, for those around me, and for all the grace the man upstairs has bestowed on me. I’ll close with this:
Dear Lord, thank you for all you have provided me. A wife to share my life & happiness; children to keep me young at heart, family to share our lifelong memories, and friends to fill in the gaps. May you keep them all as close to your heart as I do in mine. In Jesus’ name I pray
