Not What We’d Hoped, v2
Back tonight from Chicago where we experienced our first really big snowfall of the winter. Not actually why we went there, but it was quite the sight.
This afternoon, Suzanne had a procedure that included a biopsy of her throat. Since her PET scan earlier in the month wasn’t definitive, the doctors wanted more info. After the biopsy, the doctor shared what he saw during the procedure but will not have final results for a number of days.
Bottom line, the tumor is still there. When we met this Doctor back in August of last year, he flat out said that surgery was out of the question given the size, scope, and type of cancer. A little more optimistic this time, he shared that the tumor was considerably smaller, and what he called probably ‘life-altering’, at least surgery is now an option. He also indicated that other options and therapies may also be considered.
This puts Suzanne on track for the next appointment in the latter part of the first week of February. By then, the ‘Tumor Board’ will have discussed Suzanne’s case and developed the next plan of attack on this disease.
Another ‘Not what we’d hoped’ this time but at least there’s hope and it’s not ‘No more options’ to the life we share. If your keeping track, we’re still planning on 9049 days together.
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Matthew 6:33

Oh thank you John! Been wondering how today went. Tumor size decreased, and doc willing to go before tumor board with Suzanne’s case are encouraging to me. Keep on seeking God’s kingdom and His righteousness! HE is listening. “The Lord gives perfect peace, to those whose faith is firm.” Isaiah 26:3
