T minus 9
We finally crossed into the single digits, nine radiation treatements to go.
It’s actually hard for us to imagine that Suzanne has arrived at this point, and how fast it has seemed to be. Unfortunately, speed will not be the norm for the coming weeks, with this week being the hardest so far with throat pain intensifying. The constant pain drags on attitude as well as stamina.
Her radiation Doctor suggested that we double up one day next week so we don’t have to return for the final treatment the following Monday. Suzanne was all on board for that! Being done next week and not having to return to Chicago on Monday the 19th saves us another trip.
The current plan is to head south this Friday after her treatment and spend the weekend at home on the farm. It is at home that Suzanne feels most comfortable and at peace with her illness. That will leave us with one more week in Chicago.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
