Celebratory Lunch

Celebratory Lunch

Today Suzanne got some good news. Her Radiation Doctor informed her that they are already seeing some shrinkage in her tumor. Dr commented that they usually expect that for the HPV type tumor but not necessarily the negative type. As he told us, a smile came across his face so we knew he was happy with this result.

Additionally, yesterday, her Chemotherapy Doctor was surprised to hear that so far she has not experienced any symptoms from her Chemo treatments; no nausea or digestive issues. Since this was her third treatment, he indicated that he didn’t expect her to develop any problems with future treatments.

So today we decided to celebrate and go out to lunch. There is a restaurant area on Taylor street about 1/2 mile away so off we went on an adventure.

On our travels, we walked through the strike by the University of Illinois Hospital SEIU union, about 500 people; all in purple shirts, carrying signs and shouting slogans. It is a one-week planned event that we knew was going on but didn’t expect to be in the middle of it.

As we arrived in the Taylor St area, one little place caught our eye and seemed appropriate for today: Luckey’s Cafe. A little place on the lower level of the multi-level townhome style building. Shrimp & Grits was the special for today and with that two were ordered.

After our wonderful lunch, it was the long ( full ) walk back to our tiny place where Suzanne was greeted with another pile of mail. Thanks to all that share with her.

These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.
